Default dissable onstar?

Does anyone know how to disable onstar from coming on when I press my steering wheel controls? On my 03 that button(upper left) muted my radio, now it turns on the onstar crap. I tried pulling the info fuse, and that made the button do nothing at all? is anyway to make it mute my radio again?

Remove the glove box. Toward the top of the dash in the area of the XM receiver you will see the onstar module. Unplug the large connector from it and will then be dead.

I've heard that might set off a code, and other important wires go through that harness? and will that automatically default that button back to mute?

I don't think its a mute button anymore. I think if you got the on-star package, they change the button to signal on-star..
