Do headers just plain need to be tighted

Default Do headers just plain need to be tighted

DO HEADERS NEED TO BE TIGHTENED ONCE IN A WHILE?
ABOUT TWO YEARS AGO I PAID TO HAVE 3 BROKEN MANIFOLD BOLT TAKEN OUT SO HEADERS COULD BE INSTALLED , NOW I HAVE ONE HEADER BOLT BROKEN AND ONE BOLT LOOSE WHICH MEANS IM LEAKING, MY TRUCK IS RUNNING LIKE **** NOW,,,,IM PISSED AS I SAID IN MY OTHER THREAD THE MUFFLER GUY WANT 'AROUND' 300 $ TO EXTRACT THIS BOLT

I FEEL LIKE I BEEN THROUGH THIS BEFORE . . .

I torqued my header bolts properly, when installed. I have not touched them in 150,000 miles.

maybe they were torqued wrong when they were installed
and are you saying all header bolts that break off were improperly torqued

Gaskets have a small roll in this type of thing... I run paper Mr-gaskets on my race car bc there on and off so much and cheap, usually after a few heat cycles I have to tighten them again. But with metal gaskets usually its a torque and forget them... Did you use any loctite?

Default I dont know what kind of gaskets went on

I DONT KNOW WHAT KIND OF GASKETS WENT ON OR IF HE PUT LOC TIGHT ON THE HEADERS IM GETTING TIRED OF PAYING GUYS TO GET BOLTS OUT THOUGH I KNOW THAT MUCH M Y TRUCK IS RUNNING LIKE CRAP

TODAY I TRIED TO TIGHTENED ONE OF THE BOLTS AND DISCOVERED YOU HAVE TO TAKE THE SPARK PLUGS OUT TO GET TO THE HEADER BOLTS I THINK THEY ARE 9MM

they are a 10mm should not back out, just tightn them up no need spend money

I had broken exhaust bolts any way so I figured why not.
