You'd have to get 1fastbrick in here to confirm but the VHO's are differnet than the HD's. I think the frames are a bit different but again, you'd have to ask 1fastbrick.

The VHO option was only available in 2004 and 2005 and only came in extended cab 2WD.

The Vortec Max Package started in 2006 and could be ordered in extended cab or crew cab. It was also available in 2WD or 4WD

All of these were built on a 4x4 style torsion bar frame and were built in the Canada assemble plant.

Both of these package included an LQ9 6.0L
In 04/05 they had a 4L65E transmission. The 06 was actually a 4L70E.

The Transmission RPO codes are as follows.
M30= 4L60E
M32= 4L65E
M70= 4L70E

In 04 VHO had a standard 10 bolt with 3.73.
In 05 they added 14 bolt 9.5 Hybrid axle under the RPO AXN with 3.73.
In 06 you could get 3.73 or 4.10 with the AXN

The AXN rear end is a Hybrid 14 bolt because while it use the 14 bolt 9.5 center section it uses the smaller 10 bolt axle bearings and custom axles that are unique to this application.

Do I need to go on???

Yes, the frames are different as well as the 14 bolt 9.5's that are under them.

A 1500HD is a light duty 2500.... or vice versa. They use the larger c channel frame( 8") up to where it necks down over the rear diff ( 6"). Just for clarity a 2500HD has the 8" channel all the way through.... but the cab mounts are 2" higher on the frame and obviously the box is 2" higher because it sits on 8" channel not 6". So contrary to popular belief the frame under the cab on a Light duty and heavy duty are identical height anyhow. If you question that bust out your tape measure...... and yes, I have.

Otherwise a 1500HD uses the LQ4/4L80E/NVG 246(generally) combo. 2500HD's use either the 261 or 263 t case. Front diff is the 2500HD style 9.25", rear is the 9.5" 14 bolt. Brakes are of the 9900 lb GVW variety similar to the 2500HD of the time.

In other words....... your truck and a 1500HD share absolutely nothing except the transfer case in the powertrain and chassis.
