Do I need to weld my waterpump pulley?

Default Do I need to weld my waterpump pulley?

Since im adding an I.W. OD crank balancer??

If so where and how are you guys welding them( not looking at one right at this moment LOL)

go ahead and weld it. run a bead on the inside of the pulley hub....where it presses onto the shaft.

If you are running an 8-rib, you might want to consider doing something more than just welding the end of the pulley. I did that on mine and this is what failed next...



The new fix was to weld the pulley at the shaft, machined all the threads off, then sleeve a piece of custom machined DOM over the pulley and welded it at the base and the end and that seems to be holding well...
