Well i had my mind set on the trucool 40k. But i heard B&M coolers are a direct bolt on setup with no modification needed? What B&M cooler is equivalent to the trucool 40K?

I think that the biggest B&M makes is a 24K...I currently have a Permacool 17k tube and fin cooler that I will be replacing with a trucool 40K in a few weeks when I swap in my FLT level7 and Circle-D 258mm converter. You'll probably be fine with the factory cooler but why take a chance, even a 20k cooler will be more efficient than the factory cooler and is easy and cheap enough to do..."protect your investment"....words to live by....

I agree w/. others, even if I considered just throwing in my tranny & stall for a wk. or 2 while I could collect fittings (&/or -AN line if I run it) It's just not worth it tho. I could run the fittings incl. in the TruCool 40k in the meantime.
40K could apply to any co. if they actually offer it. It's a towing capacity of 40,000#. Here's B&M universal cooler stacked plate design. 29.2K is the bottom (their biggest).

You only have to overheat it once to damage the transmission. Do you have a transmission temperature guage? If you are going to risk it for a few weeks at least have one of those. When I got my guage I was quite surprised at what my temperatures were, why GM didn't include a trans temp guage on the half ton 99-06 trucks is beyond me, my truck didn't even have an aux. cooler and was way under-cooled in stock form.
