Does this engine cover bolt right on?
Cause if it does... I want one for my little 4.8L!
(sorry the pic is so big?) SnakeOiler, hope you don't mind me using it. If nobody knows I'll try a P.M.

That must be how the new ones fasten up, because all three covers (above) bolt on.
DriftR, they'll fit your 4.8 and I don't mind you showing off my engine (even if it is the old alternator )
Are you wanting all three covers or just the middle one? I'm using:
15006417
15006418
12579166 - center cover
There are lots of different part numbers for the side covers, but these are the ones I am using.

Thanks for the info all... I'd like to get all three, what did they come off of, anything with a 6L?
If I can't pull it from the boneyard I'll use the part numbers. What will I be looking to pay for them new?

Denali's, Escalade's, SS trucks. perhaps more. All of the 6.0L engines may have had these, I'm not positive.
gmpartsdirect has GM cost at:
15006417 - not listed
15006418 $35
12579166 $30

I know for a fact that they won't bolt up to a 99 silverado. I have the exact same covers and the side covers won't bolt up to the valve covers like they're supposed to. On the trucks that have that engine cover, there are threads on the valve covers that they bolt to. Mine has none. That's not to say you can't make it work, I just haven't found a way I'm comfortable with yet.

Oh yeah, the VortecMax engines, forgot about those. Another 6.0L
Just a note: the center covers are cut like that for clearance of the drive by wire throttle - all of the DBW covers will be designed like that.
Here's an example of an SS center cover and an Escalade center cover: http://s2.photobucket.com/albums/y28...o/IMG_0254.jpg
