Find the snow plow RPO and get the dealer to look up the parts. Those came with a dual battery set up.

Get a diesel battery tray and you are in business. I did same mod on my 07 and my 2011 and like it. No more dimming lights with a bumping sound system

This is next on my list too. Do you hook the amp up to the first or second battery?

I hooked the Stereo system up to the passenger side battery. That way in theory it is an electrical shock absorber kinda. It also promotes more even charging of the battery theoretically since it is not a coaster battery. But when you do all of this. UPGRADE all of the MAIN power cables. Go to a 0/0 from the alternator directly to the battery I ran individual 0/0 cables from the alternator to each battery, go to a #2 from the battery to the main fuse distribution block assembly. I used optimas so I left the OEM ground cable and did a 0/0 from the battery to block and block to frame for both batterys, I also went to a #2 from the block to firewall.

I went to a welding supply house and used welding cable in the above sizes and then crimped and soldered the eye terminals for a bullet proof connection.

This delivers a charging system that holds 14.4 rock solid and no more headlights that look like a disco ball when you got the beat cranked up.

Depending on the size and number of amps you could need a bigger alternator as well

EDIT if you are a 99' you definitely need more alternator 105 is all you have if you are on the stocker. Install a 2002 escalade or denali alternator they are rated for 145 amps but be careful if you buy parts store crap because they very seldom put out the rated amperage.

great thread! Anyone have the RPO code for snowplow 2000 Silverados? I need the pass side battery tray for my setup...seems like we all are doing the same mods haha...my stereo is done, but Ive got E-Fans sitting in the garage-don't think my current electrical system will support all of it.
