Default Dynamat.........

Hey guys,
Everythings going great on the truck; tune, shocks. Now the doors- I'm looking at new door bushings as, well they don't slam shut perfectly. Thought there's no door movement per se as I've seen in repair videos- do the doors need to be aloppy for a bushing replacement?
And to quite things up and instill a solid thud when ya close the door, has anyone used dynamat, or dynatape? And, lastly- will proper door alignment cut out the wind noise.............

Ive noticed a huge difference from road noise from doing dynamat. Im about to do my 01 rcsb soon. But if you have bad wind noise coming from the door thats still gonna be there until you figure that out. Id focus on getting that taken care of before you mat it. We install Dynamat at best buy all the time and it makes a big diffeerence when installed correctly

Worn out door hinge pins was definitely the cause of road/wind noise on my 2000 ECSB, it sounded like a door or window was open while driving on the highway, especially on the driver side. with the door open I could grab hold of the door and pivot it up and down feeling the slop/movement...This went on for years before I got around to replacing, I did notice when shutting the door that the alignment was off, it was all due to the bushings.... My passenger side had no slop but I replaced the bushings anyway and it is much more quiet inside cab now, been almost a year....

I got some weather stripping stuff from home depot and put it on the top leading edge of the door where it seals to the truck and it fixed 90% of my windnoise for $3. My door bushings are worn out and I havent replaced them yet. The weather stripping cured my noise problem.

I would definitely do shims. Im sure they r wore out. The door has to be just about closed to check for slop. It will not hardly move if its wide open. Ive done the dynamat in most of my trucks. Well worth the time and $ also u can find cheaper stuff than expensive dynamat. I use the sound deadening stuff on dishwashers but im an appliance tech so i can get it for free of junk appliances.

Thanks guys- I got a pin kit the other day, they only had one. I've seen videos of it and it looks staight forward enough. I'm just kinda hesitant right now because there's like a 14mm nut on the bottom side of the hunge. Well- i'll work up the courage...........

Its not bad. Piull off the panel beside the e break. The plug for the door accessories is behind it. Un plug it so u can take the door totally away from the truck. Then its strait forward. Good luck. Its easy.

Well guys- took a stab at the door the other night and got ina little further than I bargained for; gee- why does this always seem to happen? Anyhow, I ended up with the dorr totally offso I took the opportunity to more closely inspect how the pin is secured. snapped this pic of the upper hinge pass side- do I hafta dremel off that washer that's around the pin(s). Seeming that there are 2 pins per hinge can all 4, upper and lower 2 be replaced? There where only 2 replacement pins in the kit..........

Anyone, I'd like to avoid getting in over my head on something. On a lighter note, got some new tires yesterday and, whoa what a difference! The little imperfections and bumps in the road are just that now, not the percieved bottoming out affair as B4. Stops better and doesn't float all over like it did. I can only think what the last tires must have been subjected to.........
