Let's just say I have a defective pcm in some way. Will it have to be changed out, or just re flashed by the dealer? If I need a new one, what range of years do I have to use from? 00-06? 00-02?
Will the pcm need to be flashed by the dealer with my VIN and mileage before I can use it?

Whatever the OEM temp is.

I idled it up to 235°-240° and no low speed fan, I turned the ac on to kick the right fan on and it cooled down very fast.

I have access to a 05 Denali pcm, will it work if I have it flashed for my Denali?

I have no idea what is interchangeable.

My friend who works at the local GMC dealer is going to check and see if there is an update for my ECM, if there is, then it will be $99 to get it flashed and all of the security reset.

Whats this I hear about a 0411 ecm that might be needed? there was someone over on the TYF that had to replace his ecm with one to get his fans to work. is this just an OBS thing?
any thoughts on that?

I have no Idea what you heard but 01-02 trucks have a 411 PCM in them.

And to answer your previous question, No an 05 PCM will not Physically fit. the connector is different for the 03-07 classic PCM's.

BTW PCM's don't fail often but it does happen. I saw one with a stuck injector circuit holding the injector open and another one that was corrupt that would not allow the engine to even start.

Well the dealer showed me today that my ECM is current, and no updates are available. So, I'm not sure what to do next. the fans are wired correctly, the ac fan works, but no signal from the ECM to trigger the low speed fans. I guess maybe find a core ECM and start over, or just sell my Diablo Trinity and go with EFI live and have BlackBear tune it.

Your tune is not correct. Fan #2 on 99-02 trucks needs to be switched from "ac recirc" to "fan #2 control"

If the tune is not changed blue33 will use a pwm signal which wont operatr the fans correctly.
