Default Engine hesitation, traction control activated, wheel hubs worn?

Today, after a vicious cold snap, my Escalade started acting up under light acceleration from a stop. The vehicle would hesitate (as if starved for air), then recover. Also noticed a message on display that said "Traction system active". At first I thought maybe just need some gas line antifreeze or a new fuel filter.

But on way home, had a thought to press button to disable stabilitrak (or whatever the squiggly button is), and the problem went away.

A quick search on google came up with worn wheel hubs as a potential cause? Seems a common thing for Escalades.

At any rate, trying to do some research before turning my mechanic loose on Friday. Has anyone else had this problem with the GM truck or SUV? Or any other thoughts on the cause?

Just came off a cold snap (-40) but vehicle parked in a heated garage all day. Not sure if this is a cause or a red herring. Turning off stabilitrak solving problem (temporarily) has me scratching my head though.

Thanks

D

So just to follow up on this just got back from the mechanic. There were no codes, but apparently my 2nd battery was only operating at 5 volts, so it was dragging down the other battery. I replaced it with a new Interstate so hopefully now with 2 new batteries the problem is gone for good. It did not flare up on the way home.

Thanks all for your suggestions.
