Default Express van harness questions

Hey I have done some searching around but haven't found the info I need. Hopefully someone can chime in that's done this. So I know you can use an express van harness in a 03+ truck to keep the dbc. Are the wires the correct length for the truck? Is it just a direct swap? I have a 03 with a 00 engine, engine harness and ecu in it. It runs and drives but I want to swap it out with the express van harness if I can.

Thanks in advance.

You just need the express van PCM to keep the DBC. Some truck PCMs will work as well.

I don't think you need to do any repinning.

Right now I have a p01 ecu (red/blue) with the harness
so I need the harness and the ecu.

Someone on ebay is selling a 03 van harness with the ecu and fuse box. I was wondering if the harness would swap into my truck and if it will then I will just buy that.

You don't need the harness is what I am trying to tell you.

If you need to you can just repin your stock harness to work with DBC.

OK thank you I understand now.

The main reason I'm waiting to change it is because I'm having issues with the a/c on the truck. For some reason I have constant power to the high pressure switch and the a/c comes on when the button on the dash isn't pressed. It also won't always stay on but the pressures are good in the system. I made a weird discovery yesterday that if I pull the DRL fuse out it kills the power to the high pressure switch. This leads me to believe there is something wrong with the harness seeing as my truck is an 03 running a 00 harness and ecu.

Yeah I would go back to an 03 harness and PCM if you can. I would buy a truck one.

You could probably repin your 00 harness to work but if you don't want to then I would go ahead and buy one online or at a junk yard.

The truck and the van engine harness are totally different as far as connections to the vehicle, fuse box everything theres 0 interchangeability. Now pcms are interchangeable with repinning a few items. However the AC will not function using a express van pcm because the trucks use a serial data compressor command from the ac panel where as the vans used a hardwire ac request signal from the van panel.

00 engine harness will not work in an 03 without extensive repinning theres nothing the same 99-02 full interchange few wires here and there 03-07.5 full interchange few wires here and there
00 into an 03 square peg round hole and let the pulling your hair out games begin.

You need an 03 up harness to get this working anywhere near effectively and efficiently may as well ditch the DBC we are past the LS stone ages where DBC was beneficial anything 03 up truck will be electronic TB.

@01WS6/tamu The van PCM can be made to work with truck AC as far as I am aware. Especially considering some trucks came with that van PCM.

I do agree with just going DBW, way easier.

Yeah that's what Im going to do. I need to find a pedal, tac module, ecu and harness then buy a throttle body and it should all work like a regular 03 v8 truck correct? That's almost impossible to find in my area haha
