fabtech 6" z71 lift question
I was just wondering if I put the 6" fabtech lift on my 99 silverado z71 will I be able to run the stock rims and tires over the winter? Also could I run tires larger then 35"? any help would be great. Thanks Chris

Yup, stockers will work.
I don't think 35's are recommended with 1500 series axles, if you're doing serious offroading. I'm not sure what sized tires will ultimately fit...

ok so stock tires will fit now whats the biggest tire i can put on the truck w/ the 6" lift
you dont think the 1500 could handle 35" tires, my jeep with two piece axles and a lt1 took some abuse with 33" tires and it never failed. I was hoping to run 37" tires but I dont think it will clear with just a 6" lift????? stock tires measure out around 33"
what gearing will need to be done to accomidate the 35" and or 37"

I have 18" rims 9" wide 4.5" bs I wanted to run the baja claw radials they make 35's. so what gearing do I need? 90% of driving will be on road I would like the final gear ratio as close to stock as possible. I have the 4l60E

I personally would do 4.56 but if you drive alot on the highway a 4.10 might fit you better. I had 33's on my old z71 and I wish I had atleast 4.10 just becasue my gas mileage sucks so bad arouond town. all was good on the highway.

well that was my first queation if stock rims and tires would fit with the fabtech lift? reason being I didnt wont to ruin the nice rims in the winter with the salt and all; but I guess if I do the lift I will have to do the rims as well, right?
ok so 4.10 gears would be good gearing for the everyday occasional fun in the mud guy?
