fire extinguisher
I guess this is the best section for this... With the soon addition of a turbo i got around to mounting an extinguisher. Ive seen too many threads on burndowns so it seems like cheap insurance. It came out pretty decent and was easy. I used the back seat studs and nuts. No modification just essentially added a few washer, with a bracket. It is 3 inch C iron with washers space to fit the studs. It is still easily removed, just remove the extinguisher and a deep socket will still get them. It is mounted at a tiny angle to clear the sub box. It also retain the facory cover, u just have to remove a lip off of it.

since my tahoe was a rolling bag of destruction, I usually carried one in it 'just in case' Never mounted it all nice, just threw it in the cargo net on the back of the passenger seat.
One of those things that you hope to never need, but sure can save your *** if you ever do.

Very smart, just make sure you routinely check the pressure because those little ones are notorious for leaking. also one more thing....make sure your extinguisher is rated for your application all extinguishers are different. they are rated a,b and c not sure from memory what they correspond to but do your research and be sure you got the right one or your truck just might burn down in front of you with an empty extinguisher in your hand.

I hate to rain on everybody's parade, but unless you have a Halon fire extinguisher you may as well not have one at all. Chemicals used in regular fire extinguishers can and will damage all metal and electrical components under the hood.
