dbrods did alot of them iirc.

im doing one soon as well and have been thinking about this but im going to do it simple , latch and hinges cut out from the bed. i have a bed rug in my truck so it will be easy to make look good , some razor blade and velcro it will be completely hidden , i can now shave my stock fuel door on the bed when i get to repaint the truck. wish i had some extra time to get started on this .

How about welding and smoothing the tailgate shut, getting a solid cover like a snugtop, are, *******'s etc, and having the filler on the tailgate where the handle "used to" be

I want to see pics of the *****!!! And no, the tanks do not have to be coated. As long as its made out of stainless or aluminum..

Finally got mine done. The bolt is just temp to use as a handle to open it. Still gotta think of something to replace it. I just used a small hinge from home depot and tack welded it so that there are no other bolts sticking out.

I like it, simple and clean. I'm thinking of a summit 20 gallon fuel cell.
