Default Fuel pump issues! Help

There is somthing happening with my fuel pump. A while back i thought my fuel pump took a ****! Before i spent $260 on a new one i took the old one from the tank and hooked up direct power to it. The damn pump worked, figured it was a loose connection. Put everthing back together and the truck worked fine. The two weeks later it did it again. I really did not want to drop the tank again, so i just wiggled the wires around for the hell of it and the truck turned right on. It has been doing this for a while now so when it does not want to turn on i just wiggle the wires around and the fuel pump fires right up. Is it possible that the connectors to the pump are dammaged? Has anybody had this problem?

Its a 99 yukon 2 door with 5.7L

how often do u change your fuel filter. it sounds like it is heating up and quiting on you then it cools off and comes back on. clogged filter = more work also if you ran it too low can sometimes cause issues

It sounds like a loose wire to me too, It could be at the lid of the pump assy. too or at the pump.

Have you tried pulling the bed insted of droping the tank? I know it sounds harder, but it is much much much easier. Well O.K maybe not much much much easier, but it is easier. Do you believe me yet?

Well i would love to pull the bed off but i have a two door tahoe. I understand about the heat but it would take it longer to cool off. All i have to do is wiggle the wires and it turns on ( the fuel pump). 4.8 that eeeeeeeeeeeeeeh noise is just that style of pump they are very loud. I think all 98-99 models (with the 5.7L Vortech) have that noisy pump. Has there been a problem with the connector? Also i bought the truck with 130k on it. Right now it has 132k within 4 months (I dont drive it much since i have a company truck) and as soon as I bought it I did a complete tune up including injector cleaner fuel filter plugs wires air filter the works.

my bad.
I haven't heard about a connector problem, but the way you type about it, it sure sounds like is loose to me.
