gas cap lock broken..down to less than 1/4 tank help!

Default gas cap lock broken..down to less than 1/4 tank help!

Man I am screwed by the end of tomorrow if I can't get this cap off. Locking cap, lock must be broken cause it just spins. Any Idea's as to how to get it the **** off. I hope I can make it home from school tomorrow lol.

i know its wrong.. but...







That SUCKS. i don't have a clue how you would do it with out tearing up the hose.

Dude you can crawl under the driver side of your truck and undo the filler neck... i think its got a hose clamp and 2 of them push pin things....
If you can get the whole assembly off then you can just disconnect the cap peice and fill your truck up... then put it all back together...

Yea it sounds like alot to do just to put gas in it,,, but hey i bet its alot harder to walk home

I just went and looked at mine...

Your goin to need a Torx head bit... not sure.. prob a 25 or so.
And a flat head screw driver or a 5/16" nut driver. and i hope you can figure it out from there... just try not to drop any dirt or stuff into your filler neck hose..

Hacksaw?


pull the filler neck and break that bitch off piece by piece. New cap is like $10.
Drill the lock right out and break the rest off.

hahaha thanks for the ideas guys but i called parts n service n he said to use the biggest flat head screwdriver i could find lol. so i bashed that bitch into the key hole till it wouldn't go anymore and it came off... bunch of pieces flew off on the first wack n the rest was just me gettin pissed at it lol

I hope no pieces dropped into the can?? Well I guess the check valve would of caught it anyways. Good job bro!
