i never figured out why GM ran the hose into the TB anyways.

It's supposed to help keep the throttle blade from icing up in colder climates...I've heard of a few guys here in Jersey having problems with theirs in the winter after doing the bypass, while others have no problems at all. Some do it in the summer and undo it in the winter. I haven't bothered doing mine since the gains are so minimal, I doubt that it's worth it for me. Maybe I'll give it a shot one of these days...

that's what I did......truly a FREE mod. I don't know if it made any difference HP wise, but it sure made getting the throttle body off/on alot easier for regular cleaning. That was the real reason I did mine. After fighting it the first time, I said never again.

I know when the coolant was circulating thru there it was too hot to handle after shutdown. Now it is still warm but you can touch it. There are some great writeups with pictures if some will use the infamous search button.......

Wow holy crap the pedal on my 1999 GMC Truck has been sticking since 2000. I just clean the throttle body a little and no more sticking.
