Default Gas saving mods

I have seen in some catalogs "saves gas" listed next to mods.
I know its based on how you drive BUT, what kind of savings are really being made? I'm just curious. How many miles are you actually gaining from such mods?
Is it possible to see 2-3 mpg gains?
My truck is stock and a pig. I need more MPG.
What are some real gas saving mods?

Thanks

get a tune. get them to tune it to save gas and i bet you'd pick up 3 mpg. get a custom tune, not a hypertech or whatever.

Yeah like kevin said a tune, I like hp tuners, if you like do it yourself. And also lighter wheels and tires. My favorite ls1 fans, cheap easy and saves alot of fuel as well as increasing throttle responce. Oh and intake and exhaust if you dont allready have them.

Who has custom tunes?
Where can I find an LS1 e-fan as a complete kit?
Is this a plug and play type kit or am I going to have to splice into some existing wires?
Are there any screw in temp sensors for the e-fans that can be screwed into a plugged hole in the block, or are they all probe type sensors that you put into the radiator.
I have 4:10s, unfortunately I do a lot of highway driving to.

Well nelsons got a harness but when i was instaling them they were back ordered, so I just went off the battery with some 8 gage wire to a 30amp switch. Not the most impressive install but it works and it was free, my buddy collects ls1s and gave me the fans. But if you want to do it all pefect I think youll be able to find all of what your looking for on this sites links. Sorry I cant give you exact links, but I didnt use any of thoose materials.
