I got 445 miles on a full tank with my 4.10s and tailgate up. But that was only once when I wanted to see how far a tank would take me. Normally I get abour 350 more or less depending on how I feel like driving.

Pffft.......you should try driving my truck. As long as I keep it around 2000, like on a secondary road, I'm good to go. But as soon as I hit the interstate and she humming along at 2500-2700 rpm, I get about 9-10 a gallon. But then again, I didnt buy a 3/4 ton truck for mileage. Time to find a ricer to put aroun in.

First, I always drive in 3rd in the city. I get slightly better economy as I am not lugging around at 1200rpms then downshifting to 2nd to get moving. If your RPMs are too low you can hurt your economy as reving too high.

I get 14 city/17 highway. This is due to a few reasons...

My truck need a tune to maximize mods and power.
33" tires are heavy as ****.
33" tires are bad with 3.73:1 gears.
33" tires cause me to stay under 2000rpms on the freeway making me lug around. I wish my 70mph cruise speed was 2100-2300...4.10:1 gears will cure that.

My truck weighs 5200 lbs or so.
My truck only came with 285hp and is maybe 300 with my feeble mods. Should have came with 375 stock

Puny stock cam has no power down low or up top.

The stock stall converter is too tight causing unneeded downshifts to get around

BASICALLY...heavy and way underpowered. GM =

Glad I got the 4.8 5spd,having the 4.10s suck on the freeway, but I can get 20 mpg if I want (but thats no fun).Don't know what I will get with the 6inch lift and 35's.I think the $500 pos econo box will have to be found soon.

I just filled up last night and had 228 miles on the tank....it took 21 gallons of gas to fill it ....at $1.85/gal for 87 octane

that was alot of full-throttle with the a/c on high the whole time......

I have found that having the tail-gate down (or off) helps alot but kinda looks stupid, also, if I can keep it under 70mph hwy it helps alot too (but that's kinda hard for me....you know how it is)

well i have the 4.10 gears and drove to phoenix last christmas and ran 80 pretty much the whole way and got 17.5 but didn't have gears installed for gas but for umph with the 4.8 no gidddy up and go off the line so either put 3.42 gears back in or bite the bullet
