Yeah, I meant if he wants to run the ECU that the engine comes with, it's programmed for the engine, so that's what I meant 58X. But I don't think that ECU will work in that generation of trucks trucks. 🤔
I now just see the kit also comes with it's own electronic pedal...
I was going to mention that the Holley ECUs may be another option to run an LS3? Didn't @RDF1 say those have the option to run either 24X or 58X? I think it's just a matter of changing an input on the handheld interface, no? Those ECUs are powerful. 🤯

Holley just released their new V6 Build 300 software and it has even more cool features.. Once you go to the holley darkside you never go back...I mean why not have 3 rev limiters with adjustments on the fly?

Tune
Anyone have a tune for one of these? I mean they ship the ready to run version with an unlocked computer that already has the tune on it. Wondering if someone has it tucked away somewhere. It would be enough to get me up and running at least.

The issue your not aware of is that the ECM they ship with the engine has nothing close in compatibility with the PCM thats in your truck. Plus electric throttle vs cable throttle changes everything. So nothing in the tune would cross over to your truck pcm. I'm building a Iron 6.2 with LS3 guts right now for a customer's truck that would be kinda close to what your planning on running. But still waiting on transmission to be built before I can start tuning on it.

I'm slowly building a Gen IV L96 block with some Gen III electronics (because that's what my trucks run). I reamed the knock sensors taps and re-tapped them for the Gen III sensors.
It was pretty easy. Took about 10 minutes each side. I can check what the thread pitch is.
The knock sensors shown are rusty because I changed them out from my 06 Suburban LQ4 since I was replacing the valley cover on it.

Headers
I'm going to order some headers for this project. I should just order them for the truck as opposed to some other way? Meaning that whether an lm7 or ls3 the headers will be in the some place.

Any truck headers will work.

Fuel system
Hello all,
I've started tearing all the old stuff out of my truck and have noticed a couple of items that will need to be addressed. One of those has to do with the fuel system. It appears as though the fuel rail on the LM7 has two connections. I'm assuming there is a regulator built into the rail and one line is a feed line while the other is a return? I'm guessing I'll need to purchase a manual regulator that has a return fuel out (if such a thing is even made)? I am going to put a new higher flow fuel pump in while I've got everything torn apart as well. I took the bed off the truck before putting it into my garage.
As far as progress, I've got all the front dress torn off as well as all of the top-side connections. The driveline, transfer case, exhaust, etc. are all out too. Transmission is unhooked and ready to drop when I get some more time.
Thanks for all the help!
