Default Glue Fiberglass to metal? HELP

OK...so I'll be glueing my heat extractors to the hood soon and need to know what works best? I have 2 products:
1. Evercoat - Vette Panel Adhesive & Filler: for SMC & fibreglass;
2. Plastic Welder - good for metal, fibreglass, SS, plastic...etc.
I guess the question is: 'do I have SMC?' and I'd have to guess yes, and was told the Vette stuff was it.
Any body shop guys can help me out?

I never did any filler work on Vettes, I only wet sanded & wheeled em. I either worked w/. steel or a plastic type composition/ fiberglass, but not ever bonding the 2.
So my best guess is, if those are the products u have to pick from, go w/. #1, the Evercoat. Better yet, ask a competent paint/ body supply or body shop. But then again, if you're doin a project like this yourself, the competent body shops might not be around.

3M panel bond adhesive is what you need. An example would be the 95 camaro door skins, They were SMC bonded to metal. 3M developed a two part epoxy that matched that process, We use it in several different applications recomended by several different O.E. Manufactures. whether its fiberglass,SMC,or metal to metal panel bond works!

Downfall is its expensive,and requires a special gun to apply it.

3M makes many great products, but $. If ya need their product, oh well. Some things I only want 3M. Clever packaging, our product, our gun.

Mecham told me to just use an generic epoxy cement - thats what he uses. Maybe I'm just nervous, but when u DIY ur a little more careful and I have nitemares about it blowing off on the hiway! I've been tooling around with screwing them down...
PS - spoke to a few body shops and they just said to use epoxy.

fusor makes a product just for that purpose. I would think a good quality urathane would work also.

Found it...I'll give them a call and get the dump!
Bot it: FUSOR 116b and #313 Applicator...$75 shipped! Specifically formulated for cross-bonding of SMC/FB/Plastic to BARE metal. No bargain, but worth it for the peace-of-mind. Not sure if I really needed THEIR applicator but I can always send it back if it turns out to be a glorified caulking gun.
I think the Evercoat might be right (and the epoxy too), but again, better safe than sorry! Thnx R/
PS: Fusor also makes another that bonds to painted material, but then ur bond is only as strong as the paint:metal bond. R/
