Default GM Performance parts LS376

Can I simply unbolt my 5.3 from my 02 RCSB and replace it with a crate LS376 get a tune and be done? All I need is the short answer version. Thanks

No, due to the crate motor having the 58tooth reluctor wheel vs your current engine having a 24tooth reluctor wheel. It is still doable with a signal conversion box from Lingenfelter and knock sensor harness and camshaft position sensor harness extensions. The intake manifold and related components are another issue all together.

However it’s not just a drop-in and walk away affair though.

The crate motor I have my eye on looks to be a complete engine with everything there Performance part # 19244549 Looks like it any way, intake to pan even exhaust manifolds etc. I'm leaning this way instead of a super charger. Thanks, Anyone else with a heads up on my idea?

The crate motor is an LS3 with a HOT cam installed. I agree with 1Bear on the changes that you need to address. You might have to change the crank pulley also, pretty sure it comes with a car pulley (different depth). You need to address the fly-by-wire vs. you cable setup. If I'm not mistaken, someone makes a cable throttle body for the LS3.

The engine will bolt right in, though. would be a nice swap.

Scoggin Dickey sells a LS6 based 383 short block. You could always go that route.

So now I'll reserch the intake/throttle issue, it sounds like wire vs cable may be the hard one to make work. I see new Caddy motors in old iron at shows so maybe my idea can be done. For the $ I feel this swap would be more bang for the buck compared to the Maggie I have been reserching.

Rather than make my own thread I figured Id bump this one.

I have a 2010 Silverado and im looking for some advice/input on what I need to change to make this same engine work. I will be doing a 6L80E when I swap also. So,

-gm 19244549
-gm 19258267
-6L80E

Am I missing anything major?

Thanks

You won't need the controller. What engine do you have now?
