GMC Syclone VS Lightning
Many people say that the Lightnings are the fastest production trucks ever alough I knew a kid my age back in High school that had a 1991 GMC Syclone and I would go with him all the time and kill lightnings. That little truck was fast as hell and it was stock. Don't you guys think that the Syclone is the fastest production truck ever? Those trucks are hard to find and was just wondering who you think would win a drag race to the finishline.

Well depending on how old you were when you were in hs, but it was probably the first gen lightnings and those weren't that fast or atleast as fast as the newest lightnings. Cyclones were fast as was the typhoon but I don't think as fast as the new lightnings. Factory wise with good tires I would say the SRT-10 until the newest 05 lightning comes out, same hp as the SRT 10, but we'll see. Just my .02

Here is a few Syclone facts to keep in mind.
0-60mph 4.6 sec.
1/4 mile 13.4-13.3sec @100.2 mph
Drivetrain AWD
Wieght 2800lbs
engine 4.3L V6 Turbocharged and Intercooled
hp 280hp @ 4800rpm
tq 350ft-lb @ 3500rpm
stock max speed 126mph
Nice little truck, wish GM would wise up and make another beast like that, except drop in a V8.

Be careful on the terms used when making statements like that. Fastest means highest top speed. Quickest means quicker acceleration (best 1/4 mile time). The Syclone had a speed limiter, so in stock configuration, the current Lightning is the fastest.
Also be careful of the term "production" Some folks mean "currently in production" other mean "ever produced". I think all agree "production means it was a regular vehicle that you or I could buy, not some "racer only" special deal.
I know it sounds like splitting hairs, but when you are making claims of the "mostest", the qualifiers are important.

This guy at my buds old apt complex had a black Typhoon...also came in white and teal. Anyway...he had the bottom end rebuild and some other goodies: ported heads, mild cam, forged pistons/rods, and some stall. Ran ~7.6X in the 1/8th mi like that.
I wish GM would make a TT Trailblazer. That I6 has sooo much potential but probably will never be put to good use.
