Wel I didn't know the facts, but I would just assume that the newer gen lightnings would beat the cyclone, bigger motor, more power, but more weight......
Anyway, speaking of the trailblazer, did anyone see the twin turbo trailblazer that someone came out with. I want to say lingenfelter, but not sure. It was definatley a sweet ride.

From what I read they call the lightning the worlds fastest truck because of its top speed, not because of what it does in the 1/4. The syclone is faster in the quarter anyways. There are 2 syclones near me and I can never get close enough to them to try and line up a race. Someone near me has a typhoon too. Too bad they didnt make a newer version of them out of the newer body style S-series trucks

4.3 liter v6 isnt the same as the syclones engine. I believe the syclone had a 2.8 liter or something that was all forged. the only package that comes close is a grand national engine. 4.3 can't handle a whole lot of boost or power with out some serios modifications.

I've run one and I will never do it again. Granted, it was just for kicks and I was in my 70 BB Chevelle but he spooled, loaded the brakes and launched like he was running a transbrake. I mean GONE, dead hooked GONE before I even hit 2nd gear.
I'll say this - if a lightning and a Syclone were to line up and someone was taking money I would drop a bill on the Syclone and do it with confidence. I dont care what the mags say as you are often no ttalking real world numbers but rather optimized everything (conditions, launch, driver, shifts, etc)
These are, BY FAR, my favorite little trucks. Just bad ***, period.
Light mods, upped boost, injectors and chip and these suckers will run 12's and lower all day long...just like the GN's and still pull down killer gas mileage.
