Don't know what's more disappointing:
how long it took Toy Odor to come up with airbags with cleavage down the middle to minimize central facial injuries,
or the fact that the other car companies STILL do not have airbags that resemble funbags.

I bought new foam and have been looking for a new lower cloth section- but 264k and they are doing really well.
I can drive that truck 10+hrs without complaint. 5'9" 165lbs. Your results may vary

Outfit in Texas will sell you new foam, and leather cover, your 20 year old truck can feel like brand new for another 100,000 miles.
Only issue I've with '02 Tahoe leather seats with side airbags, is that the orientation of the seat belt means that leaning away from the center presses the seat belt against my neck uncomfortably.
Would like to think of a way to reorient the opening away from my neck ...
Apart from that, I find these seats more comfortable than the ones in the GMT932, despite my GMT821's lack of seat heaters.
Would love to find an east coast firm that would help to re-foam and re-upholster my seats though.

I got some Katzkin covers at one point a long time ago and really liked them.

Did you put the covers on yourself?
Is this the vinyl or 100% leather?

Thanks - they look great!

My buddy also got the Katskins a few years ago on his RCSB 01 Silverado. His truck was the most basic trim with cloth, but the Katskins basically turned his seats into leather.

My 99 Silverado had leather and were getting worn out. Driver's seat typical tear and had also developed the clunk on the motorized mechanism. I swapped the cloth version (also deleted the console because I wanted the jumseat.) I like the cloth version honestly better. Summers 100F+ wearing shorts is not too bad. I kept the rear extended cab vinyl though.

Out minivan has black leather seats. Boy, jumping into it in the summer wearing shorts is painful. 🤕

yes. These are real leather covers. I did do the covering myself and the Katzkins are great covers but were out of my price range at the time.

i don't know... at 252kmi when i sold my 99, the stock manual cloth 40/20/40 seats were still in much better condition than many stock power leathers of the same era with less mileage. the only problem with mine is that the fixed end of the driver's lumbar paddle broke & required me to reattach one corner back to the seat frame a number of years ago.

So I remember I took my truck to a local guy a looong time ago to get the seams fixed (but didn't actually do it.) He pointed out the difference between the front seats and back seat and even showed me the difference in texture of the materials and said the back was vinyl. I guess I took that as a fact? Maybe some were different? IDK

my money would say the back seat is "high quality vinyl" at best in the leather trims. why? because it saves cost, and the kids and/or tools who sit back there won't know the difference.
