Go fast ideas???
ok guys ive got a steal on a 5.3 with low miles and am thinking about doing a cam swap, and a stall. also ill prolly do lt's and a tune. Im just in the begining stages of this and wondering what other ideas you guys have that i should do? keep in mind that im on a fairly tight budget and this will be my first motor build so i will probably have a bunch of questions in the next month or so. All ideas are always appreciated!

Goals = 400hp & plenty of torque! i dont need a screamer i just want something that will s*** and get enough to have fun and beat average trucks (there arent many trucks like you guys's where im at)
Budget = around 2500 less would be nice but i can also get more with time

If you're out to just beat some average trucks, a cam, set of heads, LT's, Electric fans and stall will usually do. Has done well for me so far.
EDIT: just saw you have a Trutrac... you can probably ignore my rear differential comment.

Cam, stall, 150 shot of nitrous. Might want to look into parts to strenghten your transmission and differential. Because they'll be time bombs more than likely.
