IMO, you should use a 265/70R17.

This is my truck at about 3/4 with 265/75/16 (same OD as 265/70/17). A bit stuffed IMO.

Dan, I think your fender flares are attributing to that "tucked" look. It would look alot different without them.

Okay, here's some different tire sizes on my truck. Suspension setup has not changed since 2002, besides removing the overload leaf & adding CalTracs last summer. Rear ride height did not change, removing the leaf dropped it almost 1/2 inch, preloading the CalTracs brought it back up about 1/2 inch.

I can't find any pics of my truck with the 17's. The tires were 265/70R17, the wheels were stock chrome Caddy 17's, I think 7 spoke? Anyways, here's pics.

275/70R16 on Ultra wheels with -06mm offset.

275/45R20 on Eagle 026 with +10mm offset.

275/55R20 on the same Eagle 026 wheels.

275/45R22 I don't remember what these wheels were, they didn't last long.

None of these combinations have any rub, even at full steering lock over bumps. All of these tires are around 31.5 to 32.2 inch diameter. For the OP, I'd recommend staying close to a 32 inch tire if you don't want them to look too small with the drop you are talking about. Hope this helps you a little.
