Default Got my new amp in the mail today!

I got my new amp in the mail today for my Infinity Kappa 12" subs. My last amp (infinity Kappa 600W) got wet from a foam ice chest that broke in my back seat! I've been without my subs for over 2 1/2 years and its killing me! I've got a pic of the amp on my picturetrail website in my sig and I'll be posting up some more of everything tomorrow when I get it back in.

My sound system consists of:
-Pioneer GM-style deck
-Kicker 6 1/2" Components (up front)
-Infinity Reference 4"x6" plates (back)
-Two Infinity 12" Kappa Subwoofers
-Infinity Reference 600W amp for the subs

It sounded really good with just the subs, a long time ago. Can't wait to hear what'll sound like tomorrow after the subs now, because I have absolutly no bass right now!

Got the new amp in earlier and DAMMNNNN! It hits really hard! I have to turn it down all the way to make it right where I want it. I can't beleive I've gone this long without my subs! Infinity kicks ***!

I'm downloading some pics of everything right now. Check it out in the link in my sig.Let me know what you think. I know it's not all out, but it's perfect for me.

I had thought about that, how hard is it to get the back seat complety off? Anybody else done this? Any pics? I think it would fit, the amp is just under 3in thick.

dont bother. I mounted my alpine mrv-f340 behind the seat, and it was a mistake to put it there. The seat is a bitch to get back in, it rubs against the amp when you raise or lower the bottom part of the seat, no airflow, etc. If the amp is only an inch deep, then it might be ok, but the alpine is a little on the thick side. I ended up having to hammer back the metal tabs to make it fit. My advice - find a different place for it.

Actually behind the seat is the best place to put the amp. It is VERY theft proof and has plenty of cooling area back there. The ONLY issues I can think of is if you place them wrong they can get scratched when the seat moves or it can be hard to tune the amp when the seat is bolted back in on amps that have controls on the sides. If an amp is having cooling issues back there then you are probably running it much harder than it was intended to run.

Besides, where else you gonna put it in an Ext.cab? LOL

Unless the rear seat is new for 05, you cant mount it low due to the Y restraint that mounts at the bottom of the seat.. you have to mount it at least 3" above the cab floor, and if its an amp of decent size, it aint gonna fit worth a damn. Even at 3" above the cab floor, you still have to hammer back the tabs where that Y mounts.
