grinding noise from the front
2006 gmc 1500 24000 miles: I brought the truck in because I had grinding noise coming from the front of the truck as I was driving. The mechanics could not hear the noise so I was dismissed until it became more audible. 2 weeks later stuck on the hwy smoke pouring from the right wheel unable to move. Warranty replacement of the psgr side bearing. As I left the dealer the grinding, sounds like worn pads on rotors but is not that, was still there. The noise definetly increases when I turn to the right at modest speed and in the rain. Of course the dealer can here nothing. To their credit they are trying to help me and the noise is loud at times and very subtle other times. Both bearings bad at the same time? Anyone heard of issues like this with low mileage "new"vehicles. Thanks for your thoughts. Art

If they only replaced the wheel bearing that could be the problem. When a wheel bearing goes bad, normally the hub will go with it (out of round, enlarged). I would change the hub and but another new bearing in. If it's mostly when you turn right, that means it's on the left side bc of the increased weight on that side during a right turn.
