Default Grounding Issues

Has anyone had a lot of grounding issues? I have an 04 Suburban, and it's weird...for starters, my rear door lock fuse keeps blowing. I've upped the amps and everything, but it's still happening. Does anyone know where the ground is for that?

In addition, when I put the truck in park, the rear passenger window rolls up, which again sounds to me like a grounding issue. Does anyone have any kind of direction for me?

If it keeps blowing the fuse, then it has a short-circuit. If it had a bad ground, then that creates an intermittent open circuit, which would not ever blow the fuse.

You probably have a bad lock actuator. Of course, check for cracked/chaffed wiring to the actuator first.

Thanks. I'll check that when the woman gets back and let you know what I find.

Do your have your door locks set to unlock when you shift into Park? It sounds to me like you may have a harness that is pinched/chaffed.

The doors are set to unlock shifting into park. Where do I look for this. Hate to sound stupid but electronics have never been my specialty lol/

Then check the harness going to that door. It sounds like the signal to unlock the door is raising the electric window instead. Probably a pinched/melted/rubbed thru wire causing the wires to cross. Has the vehicle ever been in an accident?

You can go thru the info center and change the settings so that the auto lock/unlock feature is disabled if you want to. The owner's manual will show you the specifics on how to do it, if you need. Don't forget to change the settings for both driver #1 and driver #2.

Ok, on the DS there are some wires at the rear door that are frayed, but not on the PS...

So, the fuse is still blowing, but the window doesn't roll up when the doors lock and unlock, but when I apply the parking brake.

I'd start by pulling off the door sill plate and the trim around the hood release, maybe even roll the carpet back, and start checking the wiring for chaffing, pinches, cuts, etc.
