Default Has anyone dealt with a buyback from chevy?

my truck ticks so ungodly back ( and no, not normal valvetrain noise) and chevy's telling me it's not going to harm my truck. I can't stand the noise, it's really bad. You can hear it from about 100 feet away, sounds ilke an unadjusted lifter. anyone dealt with having to have a vehicle bought back before?

Most have gotten new motors first before the buyback, at least from what I have heard.

They should recognize that as a serious problem... a massive ticking associated with the lifters is really not good..

Have you tried to bring it back yet? Like let them listen to it? If so.. whatd they say?

they say it's not a lifter. they said there's something to do with the block, in relationship to the crank, and the bearing inserts. ? ? ? ( one would think if there's a bearing issue, there'd be a longevity issue) but they say it causes no problems with drivability and longevity, so they feel no need to fix it. they're saying chevy has yet to issue a fix to the service bulliten. So they want to leave it. I've had it at 2 separate dealerships, first one said it was normal? ******* morons.. second said ther'es nothing to fix. I've talked to Chevy customer service for atotal of about 4 hours, over the past week, and they basically told me to pound dirt. There's no problem, just noise.... so i should deal with it. That's a buncha crap if you ask me.

Mine has the same noise at 84000 . Dont bother me at all. I hear them tick all day long and have yet to see one fail because of it. You should be able to get an extended warranty from GM customer service on the motor.

Yeah... but you know what tho.. if you ARENT satisfied and that noise would **** me off too..

I would seriously be mad if they told me there was nothing to fix.. well it isnt a NORMAL sound.. i mean if it bothers the customer they should be willing to take care of it.. idk.. sounds like shitty salesmanship to me... abuse the hell outta it and than take it back with parts falling off of it and complain than, lol

idk what to tell ya...

good luck tho
