Heater By-Pass?
Alright,to do the heater by-bass w/ the valve thing or whatever it's called to get a colder a/c during the summer please answer these questions. I know they've probably already been answered but, I need reassurance!
-What parts do I need to ask for at the auto parts store? (I know nothing about a/c or it's parts)
-When I have the parts, what steps do I do in order?
-Is there a risk of ruining the a/c or heater?
Thanks!

It's sounds prety simple actually. Basically all you need to do is remove the two heater hoses that go into the firewall on the passenger side and get a male to male brass hose connector and two hose clamps.
Basically your by-passing the heater core and making the coolant recirculate in the hoses.
Make sure you cap off the two open fittings where you pulled the hoses off.
Your basically just keeping the coolant from circulating through the heater core.
I honestly don't see why this is needed. The fluid shouldn't circulate through the heater core unless you turn your in cab temperature **** off of max cold.
There should be a solenoid that controls the heated coolant from entering the heater core.
I've been told from a few mechanics that you should turn your temperature **** to full heat for at least 5min at normal operating temp every other month during the hot seasons when not using the heater to keep the coolant fresh in the heater core. It prevents the heater core from corroding in the inside from the coolant just sitting in there not being used.
Myth.....I have no idea, but I do it anyways.
