Default help with permacool fans

has anyone adapted the PermaCool cool pack fans to run off of pcm control?

i just called them but no help. according to their tech support, they do not have a wiring diagram anywhere for their controls.

they aree dual fans that move a lot of air, come with relays and a temp control brain.

from their temperature conrtol pot goes a 3 wire connector that goes either to the radiator probe (which never works), or to a head plug that is only available in 3/8 or 1/2 npt. i had a friend machine me a piece of brass that had an m14 male probe with a 1/2 female, but since it stuck out so far, the heat of the exhaust caused them to go on all the time.

any help would be appreciated.

I'm going to run mine off of pin 41 of our PCM and a relay using the blue AC wire.I'm currently still using the radiator probe.

i had the radiator probe...but it NEVER worked. they sent me the head plug, and it worked OK if i had the pot turned down all the way.

i have a dash switch hooked up to the blue wire.. since i have an 03, i can run a two pin setup....just need to figure out that does what inside the permacool relays and ****.

Why not get a Nelson harness then and totally remove the Permacool relays.Just use the wires coming out of each fan and the Nelson harness.

i say if your decent at wiring just order some relays, relay sockets, wire, and fuses and wire it up yourself using both PCM pins and be done with it... That is what i did...

pin 33 for hi and 42 for low? am i correct?

the permacool stuff already has a set of relays....nicely packaged. the thermal sensor goes to a pot and the pot outputs to the relays.

guess it was too much to ask of the manufacturer for a wiring diagram or a sequence of operations...haha

i figure might as well do it now while the truck is in shambles
