Default HELP! Rear X-cab Door Won't Open!! HELP!

I have a 2000 GMC Sierra X-cab. My driver side rear door will not open. I have checked to make sure the child safety lock was not on. It is disengaged. I have not had time to start tearing into it yet. If anybody has has this problem your help would be greatly appreciated.

Why would there be a child safety lock on an EC The EC portion can't open unless the front door is open. Just seemed weird to me, not saying there isn't one.

Sounds like the latch is broke or something in between. Have to pop the panel off and take a look.

Well im not sure if the "switch" under the handle in the jamb is a child lock or not, but when you engage it, the door will not open. I would love to pop the panel off, but its kinda hard since I cant get the door open.

I believe that is so that you can't try to open the rear door with the front door closed. The front door pushes that lever back which keeps it from trying to unlatch with the door shut.
Good luck

probably the little clip/retainer that is hooked on the 3rd door handle that attaches to the door locking rod. They break all the time. So do the shittly handles.

Got it fixed, sorry for not having pics, damn camera was dead. But anyway, it was a broken green clip on the top of the rod that actuates the lower latch, GM part # 88981030. It is actually a clip for the tailgate, but it worked. Thanks for the tips guys.
