HHEELLPP --- How do I take the fan of a 6.0 Liter|?
Im trying to put electric fans on my 01 1500HD Do I just take the big nut off from behind the fan then put it back opn to hold the pully on|?

The fan/clutch/nut are all one piece, you don't need to put the nut back on. The easiest thing to do is to leave the belt on, get a big open-end or pipe wrench and put it on the nut, then pound the **** out of it with a rubber mallet. It took me about 10-15 minutes of doing that to get mine off.

yeah the redneck impact. thats what i did too it also help if some one pushes down on the belt to hold tension. mine was easy but it had like 500 miles on it.

Damn this is a pain in the *** --- Im going to have to wait till I get more tools or get somewhere that I can do it.
I just put it back together and Im going to try again during the week or next weekend,

dude i just did mine this weekend and i used a fanclutch tool from Oriellys. I had to put a payment on it. $74.XX and then they will credit it back on the return. But i put two bolts from my light brackets on the waterpump pully via 2 of the four holes drilled on each side and then stuck a buddy on the holder (holds the two nuts and the pulley still) and turned the nut with the wrench provided. Took 2 minutes and no beating required.
