Default Hobbs switch tell me how it works

And the proper way it needs to be hooked up.. I have heard about them. What how, where do they get hooked to.... Any info on this is a plus. It seems that I may be running out of fuel up top, might be in the tune, but might need to run another pump on a switch.

Thanks all
John

you'll simple put a another fuel pump in that is triggered by a boost switch. When that switch reaches a particular boost level that you have set, it will closed a set of contacts that will power a relay that will close a set of contacts that are rated to handle the amperage of the pump.

If your pressure/boost switch(Hobbs Switch) is rated to handle the amperage of the pump then you won't need a relay.

the switch doesn't care. What do you have right now? just a stock intanker? at least 255 l/hr? Have you talked to justin about this yet?

Yes this was his suggestion.. Might be able to tune the prob out, but duno, I have to talk further with him.. I am running a inline 255 now.. I might run a bigger pump intank. My question is.. If I put another intank in, the same size what will this solve, if they are flowing the same. I take it I am running out of pressure, not flow??

from the little bit of reading i did on them it looks like you can also hook them up so they kick on if your fuel pressure drops below a certain PSI too.

they seem pretty cheap im just not sure how you hook them up. wiring is not my specialty.

I'd say put a 255 walbro in the tank.Where does your in-line pump get it's power from[does it have it's own power wire to the battery]?
