Default Hood Question.

Hey guys, i've got a cowl induction hood on my truck. I forget the brand but it's got the standard look to it. It's on a 00' Sierra. Anyways there is a cut out underneath it, off center-toward the passenger side. Not sure why it's in that particular spot is my question. Maybe it lets some hot air out and cold in, but seems like it'd be closer to the windshield? I had thought maybe there was some kit that could be used to make it ram-air or something, except it's not exactly where the filter goes, althought it is kinda close. Just wandering what you guys make of it. I've got some pics showing exactly what i'm talkin' about, but don't know how to post them. If anyone is interested give me your e-mail address and i'll mail em' to ya. Or maybe one of the mods will can post em' for me.

Later.

That was my thoughts. I know with my fans it needs another hole to come out of. I can feel air around the front of the truck when I waslk around it and the fans are on high.
