ok guys this is really annoying.
i talked to "white1" and what we could figure out is..
This is On my Truck in Sig.
On the front passenger tire there is a noise. sounds almost like mudgrips on smooth asphalt. but only on Decel, from 60-40mph, in any gear. and i have rotated my tires a few times to make sure it wasnt my tires. and it makes the resonating noise when making a left turn, almost like it is puttin pressure on the front right bearing? and if i downshift to 2nd gear and wind it up to 70 or 80 it will make the noise like it does from 60- on decel and stops at 40mph. im thinkin its the bearing, and i took it off to see if there was any slack in the bearing, but i found none.. and also looked at the back of the Hub and it has a "dust cap" that says "Do Not Remove" so i figured i would wait to get a new one ($164 Ouch) before i started screwing with it, just incase.

Whats yalls diagnosies??

Could it be the brake rotor?? 134,000miles, Front brakes rotors and pads look brand new. No lip on rotor, and Brake pads are worn every so slightly.

Im confused and aggravated.

But the good thing is i travel alot, in a company truck. So it takes me 3-4 weeks to run out a tank of gas. Even if its WOT every stoplight. Poor back tires..

Any of you guys have to put Parking Brake Shoes in?? Mine are starting to "Talk". Maybe time for new rear rotor/drums.

Yea, sounds like you have a wheel bearing issue to me too. Wierd how it only makes the noise on decel from 40-60 though, usually a bearing will make a fairly constant noise that increases with speed. Although I have heard wierd stuff come from bearings that are out of the ordinary. Is the truck 2wd or 4x4? If it's a 4x4 you could check a few things with the axle also I guess, but you probably won't find much. Wheel bearing would be my best guess.

is it a grinding noise or a whistle or what? i need to replace my front passenger side hub too. sometimes it will make this whistling/howling noise that resinates inside of the cab. it only does it when its cold outside and it only does it on the freeway. it annoys the hell out of me. theres no slack in my hub, and you cant take them apart to rebuild like the older trucks. i was thinking i would go to a junk yard and just pull a used hub out of a truck with decently low miles. it sure beats that 160 price tag.

Its a wheel bearing, replace it and tell us its all better.

is the wheel bearing and hub the same thing? i figure it is, but just making sure...

The hub is pressed into the wheel bearing. On the earlier vehicles the hub could be pressed out of the bearing and the bearing replaced seperately (although as tech I've found it better to replace the bearing and hub together...9 times out of 10). Now they come as a bearing and hub assembly...so basically they are the same part.
