Two different ways to achieve the same goal. I only mentioned having the system opened up because I am sure that there are some people out there that had to repair something themselves and didn't know any better an just charged the system not realizing that having the system opened for a short period of time can let moisture in the lines and depending on what part of the country you live in that could possibly be a lot of moisture.
