How to destroy lq9 (pics 56 k NO)

sorry i wasn't clear. what i am saying is either motor should handle 10psi just fine if you keep it from detonating. also saying the lq4 at 10psi is about all you can do on pump gas, the lq9 can't go as high. with pump gas and 10psi and the higer compresion lq9 i dont think there is anyway that motor would hold up. put a meth kit on there and it would be ok, probably even with another psi or two.

Spray a whole Bunch of meth and you might get a few more Psi out of a Lq4.

I thought you took your LQ4 up to 14 psi with nitrous on top of that Parish????


With No meth, 10 psi is WAY high for a LQ9 IMO. Then throw in 17* advance.....

remember he is runing a vortech. since they dont see full boost when peek tq is hit you can typicly go 2-3psi higher with one. for some reason you can hit these motors with a little more boost up top and be ok. i would agree with you that even with meth an lq9 probably wouldn't take much more boost if he were running a turbo or radix.

I never even thought about the fact that full boost doesn't come on during peak torque. I guess that’s an advantage or dis-advantage, depending how you look at it...

That sucks man! I really feel for you. I hope mine doesn't do the same thing, almost makes me want to put my smaller 7 psi pulley back on. I run about 9 psi max on a procharger up top right before it shifts. I also am waiting for my HPtuners to get here. I think I might need to have Nelson tune mine first before I start screwing mine up.

But anyway, Very sorry for your loss.

well do you guys think adding methanol would help me with my fueling? i know when adding meth you lean out the fuel a little and that may help me but not having to upgrade my fuel system. but i know something needs to be done its just so dam expensive.

thats whos kit i would use if i decide to pull the trigger , why does your sig say x2? ar eyour runnign meth and water or straight meth?
