If you plan on removing the speed limiter, then make sure that you have tires that can handle it.

your priorities are backwards. beef it up and THEN remove the govern. However if its a work truck I assume that means it is owned by the company you work for which means I'd not touch it without their permission.
Just not a good platform to start modding with. Personally I don't see why they still make a 4.3 when you can get more power and the same mileage out of a 5.3.

I think that you would be better off to save the money and not pay a tuner to remove the speed limiter. I think you would be happier thinking that it must be capable of 120 mph, instead of finding out it will only go 106 mph.

if its a 4.3 stop wasting time and buy a 5.3 or 6.0

no need to go over 75-80 if its a v6

been there, tried that. dont waste your time unless you plan on either droppin 4-5 grand for a good reliable motor swap, or just buy a new truck with the right motor in it. either keep it, and color match it, slam it, and turn it into a good looking truck and stay slow, or buy a proper fast truck. dont waste your time with cai, exhaust, throttlebody spacer, ect ect. no gains. now if you were to boost it with a turbo, that would be pretty neat, but, once again, you wont be seein performance like you would with a 5.3/6.0/6.2.

Unfortunatly I dont have the financial ability to drop a new engine into it or buy a different truck due to the fact that Im 17 and in high school. So I have this truck to work with and I would like it to go a little faster.

I know this is my .02, but I wouldn't dump money for things like that on that platform. Save up your money to buy something much better later on, then sell this truck to improve the much better truck. Otherwise you may never get the performance you want, and have way too much money sunk into it...

He's absolutely right, and trust me when I say, people won't give you anything for the time and money you put into it. My truck has almost 20k in customization alone, and it's only worth 12,000 bucks as it sits
