Default How To Replace Plastic Tank!!!!!

Does anyone know how to replace the plastic tanks on the radiators that come in 2000 and up trucks.

i dont know how or what you can use but i can tell you that they are pressurized while the motor is running and thats going to make things tricky. only because i THINK you need to run that style cap still...

There is a place in town that puts new plastic tanks on them, but I was just wondering if I could do it myself and where I could buy the tank. When I say tank I am talking about the plastic tanks (plastic sides) on each side of the radiator I guess I was not very clear as to what I was talking about.

a radiator shop can replace them.

I worked in a radiator shop in a junkyard twenty years ago. I tried several times to reseal plastic tanked radiators that leaked at the seam, with no sucess. They were new at the time. I couldn't figure it out on my own, and I would put you in the same boat that I was in then. I'm sure that it's no big deal with the proper special tool, or training, but I didn't have either, and neither do you. I didn't have the internet, either, though.

I bet you that redneck at the radiator shop don't have the training either but he probably does have the proper tool can I buy that tool some where.
