Default hydroboost unit has broken sight glass

Not sure where to post this but i picked up a hb unit from a 05yukon a few months ago from an online salvage yard and i just noticed while it is sitting on my shelf that what used to be the sight glass is shattered. Can you replace those or somehow block it? Not sure how or what the sight glasses are for on these anyways.

Ran up to the dealer to see if they can get me a replacement sightglass for the hydroboost unit I picked up. It came from a 05 yukon so we checked that and other various trucks from 05-06 and all showed the same diagram where all they can get is a replacement accumulator and a few seals. The diagram doesnt even show the sightglass. So Im going to contact the ebay seller I bought it from a few months ago and see if i can exchange it and if not Im wondering if theres something to use to block where the sight glass was. Maybe something along the lines of these at the hardware store.

Go to a junk yard and see how much just to take out the sight glass out of a junk one.

So it's only there to keep people from screwing with the valve set screw. Put some jb weld in it, or just leave it alone, and throw it in there. Do you have the pedal?

You dont need the pedal with the conversions on s'10s since the rod just goes through the same hole in the firewall and hooks to the stock pedal. You use the newer fullsize HB units since the rod is the same length as my stock vac booster but the mounting plate is different so you can either swap out the mounting plate for one that works which is what Im doing or drill new holses in the firewall. Early 90s astro vans had HB units that use the same mounting plates as what I need but the rods are too short so you have to cut and weld an extension. Im just swappng the mounting plates.

On fullsizes whats the point of changing the pedal? I know the placement where the rod mounts to the pedal is in a different location but why? More or less leverage??

The rod connects higher on the pedal with hydroboost, so I would guess less travel, and/or more leverage.

Oh. S10s are SOL on finding a different pedal. The HB conversion has been done a bunch of times on ls swapped rigs and body dropped rigs that need more wheel room tons of times.

Mine has what looks like some kind of clear epoxy in it but it isn't clear any more so it looks like there is something behind it but there isn't. Plus it was dark when I looked the other day.
