What color was it? Did it have New Mexico plates? If so, that one will take quite a bit of modding to beat. If its not him......let me at him!!! I won't beat him either, but he'll be real surprised when I hang with him till at least 50. Most L owners seem cool around here, but that guy seems to be the exception. That's the kind of person you REALLY hate losing too. I think he's the definition of a "sore winner". IMO you were the real winner, because you weren't an ***, and you didn't buy a Ferd. LOL. What an *******! Another reason to put the F1 kit on my truck. Damn it!

 

Didn't check the plates but it was blue. kinda of that tropical blue that comes on the vettes.

 

Those "L" boys come to DTW all the time trying to get a race going, then when someone with a srt10 ram jumps in they are like you have 500 hp, well you have a supercharger, pulleys and a custom tune..........duh! Most of those L guys are good though, don't let one owner of an L discourage you against all of them though. Some are just into the speed end of things, and I have to admit they have it in that dept.

 

I had a similar run with a Lightning owner. I went to my buddies shop and there was a L sitting outside of it. I walked up to the guy that owned it (which he was older to) and told him how much I liked his truck. He was having problems with it becasue the jackass decided to put a 4 pound pulley on it and didnt have a tune to compensate the extra boost. He still coulndnt figure out why it was running way lean it was almost dangerous to drive. My buddy told him to buy a handheld tuner to compensate for the extra boost. Then he told the guy I had one for my truck. The guy turned at me and was like "Do ya want to race" I was like "hell no your running 380rwhp to my 255 its not even worth racing. Then he said, "Well maybe we will meet on the street someday." Like some gay ricer comment. So I was going to go the cam route, but I still dont think that wont be enough, he runs 8.2-8.4 in the 1/8th. So I am also going to go the forced induction route. I'm really gonna suprize his *** when I find him someday this summer.

 

I love L owners. They are so caught up in the fact that they own a L and they think they are GOD. I remeber when i first got my truck I lowered it, rims, convertor, intake, exhaust, gears and HPPIII. It was slow but not that slow. this guy in a L pulls up next ot me on the main drag and is like "lets go Chevy boy". I was like what ever. So we wen tat the next light. He smoked be but no ****, I knew that was going to happen. So then at the next light he was talkin **** and I just told him "see you next summer". That next summer I got my h/c and radix put on. I was leaving work one night and saw this guy on the road. I pulled up to him and just gave him the look. He wsa like "what you think you can hang. I got a pulley and exhaust now. You are DONE". I didnt say anything. Light goes green and i smoke the tires and him. He never said anything to me again. Ever time is see him he just turns off the road or goes the other way. Every L owner will get theirs.

 

 

One of the good things about Chevy in my point of view, is that we don't have some cool sloggin or fast production vehicle. This tends to give less brand loyalty and fewer ******** who praise the brand. Not to say there aren't any, but there is less figuratively speaking. I heard CTW has some squirrels, but for the most part...
