I tell you waht I am sure their will be alot of guys going to ford if their new lightning is as bad as they say and if Chevy doesnt step it up and quit being a bunch of *****'S.

01littleblackie(HA), your full of it now. I am the same way though. I would rather drop a 408 and NOOOOSSSSS the **** out of it and whip my *** with their front bumper. All in good fun though I am still slow!

I just want to get the best deal on this truck I know they probably have a ton of mark-up and what not. So I will see what kind of deal I can get and go from there.

Look I can save 6,000 or so going with the Chapman deal. I was alos wondering about a reg cab with a 6.0 not sure if you can do that though from the factory.

I would hope they at least put upgraded servos/accumulator pistons etc in them. It would be smart to put the 4l65e in them to begin with (actually, in ALL the auto 1500 trucks)
I don't know about anyone else but I dont like the idea of ruining my tranny, and I especially dont like the idea of having the dealership pulling the busted tranny, putting in another POS 4l60e, not tightening the bolts to spec, having vibration issues as a result, etc etc - and having to go through this multiple times in those 5 years or 75k miles
I think it would be crazy for GM to sell a s/c 5.3 w/a stock 4l60e and expect people not to break it (btw this is not personal experience, but just reading about everyone on this site breaking 4l60's - even stock trucks - I will have a radix soon and will be able to see how the tranny hold up to daily driving/the occasional track meet)

Yeah this is true. Im actually thinking about just getting a reg cab 5.3 and adding the magnacharger,ss front end,ss wheels,etc. I can save some money doing that but Im going to check out the JG truck tonight to see what kind of deal they will offer me and what they can do. If that fails I will go ahead and do the reg cab with the supercharger and be done with it.Btw does anyone know where to buy an SS front end or how to get a hold of one??

yeah as soon as I got either truck(chapman or JG) I would take it and put a shift kit, servos and new acc. thing and what not. It's only a matter of time. I guess they expect everyone to be old timers and fart around town in a 400hp truck. Also why do they put 305 hp in lincolns and cadillacs have the 300+hp northstar that all the old ******* by. WHY?
