Get a bargain 4L80e, add a shift kit and servo's and enjoy the truck.

well uhh, u got sum spare parts, like an engine and a trnny layin around, fell free to uh, you know, send one my way... hehehe i have a stooopid 4.3 V6 in my truck.. nuff said

I remember reading the threads as slow's truck came along, I've always liked his truck...made me want a 6.0. Good luck with it...if you want to take it to the next level get an LSx block, a built 80E, 14 bolt, and build the hell out of it!

First gear is yes but it's a necessary evil if you want your tranny to last more than one pass down the street.
