Why does it have 3 pedals?

I think that may be because "3 on the tree" is referring to a 3 speed manual...the shifter is on the column (tree), as opposed to the floor.that is a great find and a killer price. IMHO, that's something that needs to be kept as original as possible - how many '76s have you seen that look even half that nice? I would love to have that in my garage. Thanks for posting pics!

That thing is a time capsule. Inspection marks and everything. Very Cool! I would address the surface rust now though and try to preserve it as much as possible. I recommend changing the wheels though if you're going to drive it around at all. Those hubcaps are hard to find in that good of shape, and you can get good money for them.

You have to be kidding me! 3 on the tree?!? Ring any bells?

If you want to be confused...my truck has 3 pedals and 2 shifters.

T56 swap in an originally automatic truck

if you are confused now, you should try to drive a three on the tree, I've done it, but it still confuses the hell out of me

I knew about Todd's truck, just giving him a hard time. I can't imagine driving a three on the tree, doesn't seem like it would be real easy....

I learned how to drive stick on a 3 on the tree. My dad threw me in it and said, if you can drive this, you can drive anything. His company uses it for their scrap metal and it had no power brakes, no power steering and about 1000lbs of metal in the bed.
