Question Lightning 1/4 mile times?

What does the average Lightning (stock or maybe with a little tuning) turn in the 1/8th and the 1/4? I've got my 6.0 down to 13.90's in the 1/4 and 8.90 in the 1/8 on street tires. I believe I've got a another tenth available with a little more fine tuning with LS1edit. There are a few loud mouth "Lightnings" in my area that I want to put a spanking on. My truck looks and sounds like a stock 5.3, that should make them "Lightning" boys eat crow if I can pull it off!

Man i have seen L's run into the low 13's high 12's with just some tuning and a pulley. It is hard to tell what they are going to run bc they all sound so gay. If you really want to shut them up, put a Radix on that 6.0 and walk all over most of them. The thing that i have noticed about L's is that for everyone you can take, there seems to be another one right there able to take you. good luck when you go lightning hunting

They are suppose to run mid to low 13's stock. I personaly saw one run a 14.1 about 5 times at a track, but wasnt down at the staging area to see him leave,he could have been spinning badly, also the weather sucked. But the average Lightning should be a mid 13 second ride.

Well when I was at the track last there was a father/son team with each with a black lightning. The best they could run was a 14.5, either one. I think the heat was killing there performance.

Heat kills em big time. Most of the '01 and up ones are a little quicker than the 99-00 models. My 00 went 13.55 with nothing but a chip (which probably 99 out of 100 have) It went 9.13 in the eighth stock but like I said I think the newer ones are like 8.8-8.9 stock. There are a crapload of them around nowadays running 11's and 12's so try and pick on a stock one.

Sounds like I need to start thinking about a concealed 100-150 NOS shot. I really don't want them to understand how a "stock" Chevy spanked em!
