Default Long term reliability of turbo'd vehicle??????

I am planning on putting a Livernois turbo kit on my yukon to make it more fun to drive at highway speed and make it tow better. I usually tow about 2k but have towed 5k a few times. With only 2k it tows great, but 5k it almost stays in 3rd gear. I dont plan on doing alot of racing with it, or upping the boost over 7psi. This is my family ride and since i sold my cummins its also my tow rig. I want it to last 150,000+ miles. With a safe tune and normal driving/towing will the turbo last that long? I have almost 9,000 miles in the 1.5 months I've had it so i rack up miles quick. The turbo itself shouldnt wear out right? I know bushing turbo's last forever, how are the ball bearing ones?

Before anyone asks, I use only mobil1 every 5k miles and regular maint. like religion. It has the stock tranny cooler but i think I will add a slightly larger one, that should make it last 200k miles with fluid/filter changes every 35k or so.

I dont think you're going to have an issue. I had similiar questions a couple years ago when I started modding my Tahoe. If you actually stick to what you are saying I dont think you'll have any issues at all. I was so worried about my motor and trans lasting, but Im now putting in a 6.0 and 4L80 anyway even though my 85K 5.3 and pretty much stock 4L60 are still fine. If anything I would worry about the trans. You are definately going to need a huge tranny cooler and I think a shift kit would be a good idea as well. If anything will kill it, it will be the towing, not the turbo.

it puts drag on the engine at low cruising rpms where a turbo can run a full 7psi at 1800rpms without having to downshift. Even a roots blower with lowend isnt capable of low boost or as much low tq under strain.

It is all going to depend on your maint. I would suggest making sure it is tuned properly and you keep up the maint. I do not see any improperly installed/tuned FI system changing reliability over the long term. Just remember with any power adder, it will find the weakest link faster than a stock motor.

The only problem I see is that Livernois recomends against towing. With my STS kit I see high EGT's which might be a turn off for towing. If I were to do a straight family rig to tow with it would be the Radix.
