But I am not in a hurry so I can keep looking. Find some leather Chev's with 4.10's, but I will just keep going. I just texted a guy about a nice 75K mile 05 GMC 1500HD he is asking 13K obo for,and sure enough........ 3.73 gears. Yes I can regear it, but I can never fix the 7900 lb tow rating it gets, whereas the identical truck with 4.10's gets 9900...... Thanks GM.
I also am very picky, so this could take me some time.

Is there a reason you prefer the GMC over Chevy? Is it just personal preference at this point? Since I'm looking used, I have been treating Chevy & GMC as one of the same. If it's got what I want, I'll take either.

I don't like the Chev front end, never have and never will. The 05 + HD raised front hood and different grille is better but still meh.... The trucks are identical beyond the front clips, some trim and badging so if you don't care don't sway from either. Regearing a truck potentially is a lot simpler than a clip, trim and steering wheel cover swap if it comes down to that. And then to hell with the legal rating, lol.

I 100% agree with this statement. I never have like that front end. If I find a chevy that fits my needs and price, it's going to have to be perfect to get me past the front end!

Exactly my thoughts. I have found one Chev that is nearly perfect but because it's a Chev, and well it's age, I hold back. It's a cloth seat, Bose, auto climate 4.10 geared truck with a tick over 50000 miles on it. But...... it's a Chevy and it's an 03...... I kinda want to stay 05+ but it has me thinking. He overpriced it big time and it's getting closer now to real value. Plus of course it has ugly extras tacked onto it which I would remove so thats a deterrent too. It's a good thing I am in no hurry. I have been looking actively since before I bought my 05 last March so a solid year and half now. Good things come in time...... or at least I tell myself that
